A precise language and powerful tool, mathematics is an important foundation of scientific learning. Due to differences in educational environments and goals, mathematical learning varies greatly from country to country. The Creative Mathematics class is based on the BC provincial mathematics syllabus, and extends this teaching to focus more on hands-on practice to help children truly understand the mathematical problems and concepts in great depth. SPARKS requires students to “concretize the abstract concepts” using means Singapore’s painting model, thus cultivating students’ independent problem-solving ability. In memory and computational training, SPARKS uses learning methods used in China to help students strengthen their mathematical knowledge. With SPARKS’ Creative Mathematics class, children will develop a solid mathematical foundation that will help them thrive academically.
